The Problem
Engineers from the customer’s company—a major energy industry player involved in building energy generation and transmission facilities that serve more than 5.4 million customers across 11 states and span 40,000 miles—requested our help with a supply issue that had reached a critical level. Construction operations for a new substation were on the cusp of shutting down due to problems sourcing the steel required to finish the job. They needed a large volume of plate steel fast to prevent operations from halting completely.
The Solution
Our passion for steel made us well-suited to meet the customer’s needs. In addition to offering a range of steel fabrication services, we maintain a stock of 100,000 to 200,000 pounds of plate steel and a partnership with a nearby steel galvanizer to ensure we can accommodate and deliver custom fabrication projects faster than our competitors. These qualities allowed us to provide the customer with the steel they needed when they needed to keep the substation construction project on schedule and budget.
